Embraer Pilot Jobs 2026: E175, E190 and E195-E2 Airlines and Who Is Hiring
The Embraer E-Jets, from the E170 and E175 to the E190, the E195 and the second-generation E190-E2 and E195-E2, fly with 28 of the 121 airlines on our jobs board, 12 of them with the E2. At the last check 17 of them had the First Officer seat open, recruiting or holding a pool, and 21 publish a First Officer entry for pilots without a type rating. This page lists each one with that status, what it asks of the rating and its published minimum, then who actually employs the E-Jet pilots, the routes that name the type, the E-Jets on order and leaving, and the traps in an E-Jet vacancy. An open First Officer seat is not always an E-Jet seat: where the airline names a route on the type, we quote it as recorded.
Always confirm on the airline’s own careers page before applying. Every figure here is what the airline published at the date shown against it on our jobs board; entries marked Unconfirmed are ones whose requirements we found but whose current vacancy status we could not establish from the airline’s own pages. Vacancies open and close without notice.

Not counted: Loganair and Piedmont Airlines fly the Embraer ERJ-145 (E145), a regional jet of a different family from the E-Jets; the E-Jet bank below does not cover it.
Who you would work for
The E-Jet is often flown by a regional, a group airline or a contract partner rather than by the airline whose name is on the tail, and that company is the one that hires you, sets the seniority list and decides the base. In our records: Alaska Airlines’ E175s are flown by Horizon Air, and SkyWest also flies E175s for Alaska (checked 13 October 2026); Republic flies its E170s and E175s for American, Delta and United, under capacity purchase agreements (checked 20 October 2026); Envoy’s E175s and E170s fly as American Eagle (checked 20 October 2026); Jazz flies its E175s as Air Canada Express, under a capacity purchase agreement with Air Canada (checked 24 October 2026); British Airways’ E190s, about 20 of them, are BA CityFlyer’s (checked 24 October 2026); the Qantas Group’s E190s are Network Aviation’s, in Western Australia, where up to 14 are replacing the Fokker 100: the first arrived in Perth on 7 September 2026, with in-house E190 services planned from early 2027 (checked 23 October 2026); Virgin Australia’s E190-E2s are flown by Virgin Australia Regional Airlines from Perth, replacing its Fokker 100s, five of them on the fleet page at 24 June 2026 (checked 20 October 2026); TUI’s E195-E2s are TUI fly Belgium’s, and TUI takes one application per cycle, to one of its airlines (checked 18 October 2026); Finnair’s E190s are flown by Norra, and whether Norra is a route into Finnair is among the points we could not confirm (checked 27 October 2026); LATAM’s E195-E2s are LATAM Brasil’s, from the last quarter of 2026, and its calls were for Brazilian citizens, as the Brazilian press reported them (checked 25 October 2026); TAP’s E190s and E195s are flown for TAP Express by Portugalia, a separate employer whose recruitment we have not researched (checked 12 October 2026). KLM is not on this page: its record lists the Embraer 175, 190 and 195-E2 only in its full fleet list, as KLM Cityhopper’s (checked 13 October 2026). Apply to the operator, and ask whether its seniority list, base and pay are its own or the mainline’s. The US regionals and their flows to a mainline are on the regional airline pilot jobs page.

The First Officer, co-pilot and cadet routes our records name on the E-Jet, worded as recorded at the date shown, open or closed. An airline missing here may still put new pilots on the E-Jet; it just does not name the type in its routes.

Captain routes on the E-Jet (4)
8 of the 28 airlines on this page publish no Captain route for pilots from outside: they make their Captains from their own First Officers. These 4 records name a Captain route on the E-Jet, worded as recorded; the Captain seat was open at the last check at 3 of them. Every airline that takes Captains from outside, on any type, is on the direct entry Captain jobs page.

E1 and E2: one type rating
The first generation only (16): Alaska Airlines (incl. Hawaiian), Austrian Airlines, Breeze Airways, British Airways, Envoy Air, Finnair, Horizon Air, Jazz Aviation (Air Canada Express), Kenya Airways, LOT Polish Airlines, Qantas Group (Qantas & QantasLink), Republic Airways, Royal Air Maroc, SAS, SkyWest Airlines and TAP Air Portugal. The E2 only (9): Binter, LATAM Airlines Group, Luxair, Porter Airlines, Royal Jordanian, Scoot, TUI Airline (TUI Airways, TUI fly), Virgin Australia and Widerøe. Both generations (2): Azul Linhas Aéreas and Helvetic Airways. The E2, and E-Jets of models not named (1): Airlink. By model, as the records name them: E170 3; E175 7; E190 9; E195 7; E190-E2 5; E195-E2 9. Airlink’s record also lists “Embraer ERJ and E-Jet families” without naming the models.
For the license the generation makes little difference. EASA’s type-certificate data sheets treat the ERJ 170 series (the E170 and E175) and the ERJ 190 series (the E190 and E195, and the E190-E2 and E195-E2) as variants of one type, with the license endorsement EMB170 and no separate E190 or E2 rating, so a pilot moving between models completes differences training rather than a new type rating course (data sheets IM.A.001 and IM.A.071, as our Library’s E-Jet family and flight deck article cites them). The aircraft differ a good deal all the same, the E2 in its wing, engines, displays and flight controls, which that article sets out. What differs from one airline to the next is whether you need the rating to apply, and how your hours are counted: see the next sections.
Do you need an E-Jet type rating?
Whether you need the rating to apply is the airline’s call, and it splits the list four ways:
- No type rating needed to apply (17): Alaska Airlines (incl. Hawaiian), Azul Linhas Aéreas, Breeze Airways, Envoy Air, Finnair, Jazz Aviation (Air Canada Express), Kenya Airways, LOT Polish Airlines, Porter Airlines, Qantas Group (Qantas & QantasLink), Republic Airways, SAS, Scoot, SkyWest Airlines, TAP Air Portugal, Virgin Australia and Widerøe. The airline provides, arranges or sells the rating, or only prefers it; a multi-fleet airline may still put you on another type.
- Separate rated and non-rated streams (4): Binter, British Airways, LATAM Airlines Group and TUI Airline (TUI Airways, TUI fly). The streams open and close separately, and the rated one usually asks for hours on the type. LATAM Brasil’s December 2025 E195-E2 call asked Captains and copilots for a valid E-Jet E1 or E2 rating or E-Jet experience in the last three years, while its May 2026 copilot pool needed no rating (as the Brazilian press reported them) (checked 25 October 2026).
- A type rating needed to apply (2): Royal Air Maroc and Royal Jordanian. Not always on the E-Jet: Royal Jordanian’s rated First Officer route accepts an A320, B787 or E-Jet E2 rating interchangeably (checked 21 September 2026).
- Not published or unclear (5): Airlink, Austrian Airlines, Helvetic Airways, Horizon Air and Luxair. This includes airlines with no First Officer entry outside a cadet scheme.
A rating can still count in your favor, or not matter at all: SAS’s E195 Direct Entry Captain route takes type-rated and non-type-rated pilots (checked 12 October 2026); SkyWest pays a USD 7,500 bonus to pilots already rated on the CL65 or the ERJ 170/190 (checked 15 October 2026); Kenya Airways’ Second Officer postings of 2024, as job boards copied them, listed an E190 or 737NG rating only as an advantage (checked 21 October 2026); Porter’s own pages, as search results showed them, do not state it, and a job board’s copy of its E-Jet First Officer listing says no type rating is required and training is provided (checked 23 October 2026); Envoy teaches the E170 and E175 in its nine-to-ten-week new-hire training (checked 20 October 2026). The airlines that train you on type, on the E-Jet or another aircraft, are on the non-type-rated First Officer jobs page, and the routes from zero on the cadet programs page.
New E-Jets, and E-Jets leaving
An airline taking new aircraft has to crew them, and one retiring a fleet moves its pilots to another type. What our records say, with the date of each check:
- On order. SAS has 45 E195-E2s on order, with purchase rights for 10 more, ordered in July 2025 for delivery from late 2027 (checked 12 October 2026); Porter had 75 E195-E2s on firm order and purchase rights for 25 more when its 50th was delivered, in December 2025 (checked 23 October 2026); SkyWest had 67 E175s on firm order at 30 June 2026, for delivery through 2031, by its Form 10-Q as search results showed it (checked 15 October 2026); Republic has 26 more E175s on firm order, for delivery from 2028 through 2030 (checked 20 October 2026); Envoy is growing to at least 214 aircraft by the end of 2027, with further E175 deliveries (checked 20 October 2026); Finnair ordered 18 E195-E2s in March 2026, with deliveries from the third quarter of 2027, all to be flown by Norra (checked 27 October 2026); Piedmont, which flies the ERJ-145 and is not on this page, has 45 E175s due from the first quarter of 2028 (checked 24 October 2026).
- Already crewing. LATAM Brasil had hired 54 E195-E2 pilots, 31 Captains and 23 copilots, by 28 April 2026, as the Brazilian press reported it (checked 25 October 2026).
- Leaving. Austrian Airlines said in December 2025 that all 17 of its E195s leave the fleet by the end of 2028, most of them to Air Dolomiti, replaced by A320neos (as search results showed it) (checked 28 October 2026).
An order is not a vacancy: deliveries slip, and an airline may fill new seats from its own First Officers first. Watch the careers page of the airline that will fly them.
How to read an E-Jet vacancy
- The employer may not be the airline you searched for. See who you would work for: the E-Jet seat may belong to a regional, a group airline or a contract partner, with its own seniority list and pay.
- Hours with a qualifier. SAS’s experienced First Officers need 400 hours on CS-25 or FAR-25 aircraft, not 400 hours in total (checked 12 October 2026); Porter’s minimum is 1,000 hours in total, while job boards’ copies of its E195-E2 First Officer posting give 1,500 with an ATPL (checked 23 October 2026); LATAM Brasil’s E195-E2 copilots needed 500 hours on airplanes with an E-Jet rating or recent E-Jet experience in its December 2025 call, as reported (checked 25 October 2026); Binter’s MPL holders need 70 hours in command, or at least 10 plus time in command under supervision, with 20 of VFR cross-country, to meet the E2’s operational suitability data (checked 29 September 2026); Kenya Airways’ last First Officer posting counted 250 hours of flight time for employment, simulator time excluded (checked 21 October 2026). A First Officer at the 6 US airlines here needs the FAA’s airline transport pilot certificate, full or restricted, and a type rating for the aircraft (14 CFR 121.436(b)); the hours of each are on the regional airline pilot jobs page. Every airline’s minimum is on the hours requirements page.
- Provided is not always free. SAS pays its First Officers’ type rating, while its Direct Entry Captains get a fully funded rating with a three-year bond (checked 12 October 2026); Scoot’s rating comes with a co-payment and a training bond (checked 25 October 2026); Kenya Airways’ 2024 Second Officer postings, as job boards copied them, said a two-year bond applies to the type rating course, and whether it still does is not published (checked 21 October 2026). Ask who pays and what the bond is before you sign.
- Language and passport first. Binter’s E195-E2 First Officer listings, as search results showed them, asked for Spanish at level 5; Widerøe for a Scandinavian language; Finnair for fluent Finnish and English of every pilot; Azul for a Brazilian passport and a US visa; Airlink for South African citizens; Kenya Airways for Kenyan citizens; Jazz for Canadian citizens or permanent residents; Luxair works in English, with French, German and Luxembourgish only a plus. The 6 US airlines here ask for the right to work in the US. Of the 28 airlines on this page, Royal Jordanian says it sponsors a visa for at least one pilot entry, and the Qantas Group’s record shows Network Aviation’s two-year fixed-term E190 Training and Checking Captain vacancies offering sponsorship and relocation on 16 October 2026, and what that sponsorship covers is among the points we could not confirm. The airlines that do, on every type, are on the visa sponsorship page.
For the technical interview, the Library’s E-Jet articles cover the family and flight deck, the flight controls, the electrical system and the engines and APU, and the complete interview guide covers the HR and competency stages.
Common questions
Which airlines are hiring Embraer pilots? 17 of the 28 airlines on our board that fly the E-Jets had their First Officer seat open, recruiting or holding a pool, at the last check; the table “First Officer seat open” on this page lists them, each with the date it was checked. That is the airline’s First Officer seat, not always a vacancy on the E-Jet, because multi-fleet airlines assign the fleet and some E-Jets are flown by a regional or group airline that hires for itself. Check each airline’s current status on the jobs board before applying.
Can I get an E-Jet job without a type rating? Yes. 21 of the 28 airlines publish a First Officer entry for pilots without a type rating, 4 of them alongside a separate rated stream; 2 want a rating held when you apply, not always on the E-Jet, and for 5 it is not published or unclear. Where the airline provides the rating, ask who pays for it, whether it is bonded and which fleet you will fly.
Is the E195-E2 a different type rating from the E190? Not under EASA: its type-certificate data sheets treat the ERJ 170 and ERJ 190 series, the E2 included, as variants of one type with the license endorsement EMB170, so a pilot moving between models completes differences training rather than a new type rating course. The E2 differs a good deal in its wing, engines, displays and flight controls.
How many hours do I need for an E-Jet First Officer job? There is no single figure. The lowest published First or Second Officer entry points for pilots without a type rating among these airlines, each in the airline’s own measure of hours and not always on the E-Jet: Binter (no minimum); LATAM Airlines Group (150 h); Kenya Airways (250 h); SAS (400 h); Jazz Aviation (500 h); Qantas Group (500 h). In the United States the floor is the FAA’s airline transport pilot certificate, at 1,500 hours, or the restricted ATP’s lower minimums.
Which airlines fly the Embraer E2? 12 of the 28 airlines on our board that fly the E-Jets list the E190-E2 or E195-E2 in their records: Airlink, Azul Linhas Aéreas, Binter, Helvetic Airways, LATAM Airlines Group, Luxair, Porter Airlines, Royal Jordanian, Scoot, TUI Airline, Virgin Australia and Widerøe. The E175 flies with 7: Alaska Airlines, Envoy Air, Horizon Air, Jazz Aviation, LOT Polish Airlines, Republic Airways and SkyWest Airlines.
Which airlines hire E-Jet Captains from outside? 4 of the 28 airlines on this page name a Captain route on the E-Jet in their records, with the Captain seat at the last check in brackets: Porter Airlines (recruiting); Qantas Group (recruiting); SAS (recruiting); LATAM Airlines Group (unconfirmed). 8 of the 28 publish no Captain route for pilots from outside and make their Captains from their own First Officers; the direct entry Captain jobs page lists every airline that takes them from outside.
