The v1prep Pilot Scholarship

v1prep follows pilots from their first lesson to their first airline job, and on through their career. The v1prep Pilot Scholarship gives five pilots a year of full access to it, free.

The award

Each winner receives 12 months of v1prep PRO on their own v1prep account, from the day it is switched on: every question bank on v1prep (15,000+ questions in 186 banks, each answer with its source), from PPL to ATPL theory and the FAA written tests to the A320, A220, B737, B787 and E-Jet type banks, the interview banks and Mock Interview mode, Difference Training (737 NG to MAX, A320ceo to neo), the Flight Briefing, Pilot CV Pro, and progress tracking with spaced repetition.

Who can apply

• Anyone learning to fly or working towards their next step as a pilot, at any age and at any stage, anywhere in the world: a first lesson or a PPL, LAPL, IR, CPL or ATPL theory, the FAA knowledge tests, an integrated or modular course, a type rating, an airline selection, or a new type.
• Under 16: a parent or guardian must agree to your application and say so in the e-mail.
• Current v1prep PRO members may apply; a winner’s 12 months are added to the end of their current period.
• Not open to v1prep’s staff and contractors or their families.

How to apply

E-mail adam@v1prep.com with the subject “v1prep Pilot Scholarship” and include:

1. your name, country and e-mail address (the one you use, or will use, on v1prep);
2. where you are in your training, and what you are working towards next;
3. an answer of 300 to 500 words to this question:

No fee, no documents, no references. One application per person. Applications close on 31 December 2026 at 23:59 UTC.

Selection

Adam, the founder of v1prep, reads every application. Winners are chosen for a clear, honest and specific answer, and for how much the year of PRO would help at their stage of training. Grades, flying hours and finances are not part of the selection. Winners are told by e-mail by 31 January 2027, and applicants who do not win are told too.

Rules

1. The award is 12 months of v1prep PRO on the winner’s own v1prep account. It is personal and cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged for cash.
2. PRO is switched on within 7 days of the winner’s reply and runs for 12 months. It does not renew automatically, and no payment card is needed.
3. If a winner does not reply within 30 days, the award may go to another applicant.
4. If there are fewer suitable applications than awards, fewer awards may be made.
5. Winners’ answers are not published. With a winner’s written permission, v1prep may publish their first name, country and stage of training.
6. Applications are used only to run the scholarship and are deleted 6 months after the winners are announced. See the privacy notice.
7. v1prep may change or end the scholarship before the closing date, and will say so on this page. The founder’s decision on the winners is final.
