Endeavor Air Pilot Requirements 2026: Hours, License and Hiring Process
Endeavor Air, the Minneapolis-based regional airline wholly owned by Delta Air Lines, flies CRJ-900s and CRJ-700s as Delta Connection and hires First Officers at the FAA’s ATP or restricted-ATP minimums. Its pilot FAQ, read on 24 October 2026, says it interviews candidates within six months of their ATP minimum hours and can give well-qualified candidates company-paid ATP-CTP training with its ATP training partner. A job-board copy of its CRJ First Officer listing, as search results showed it, asks for an ATP, or the ability to obtain an ATP or restricted ATP, 1,500 hours with 250 as pilot in command and 25 multi-engine and an FAA First Class medical, with no type rating. Endeavor and Delta recruit together under Delta’s Propel brand, whose successful candidates receive job offers from both, and the Career Advancement Program takes Endeavor Captains to Delta with no testing or interview. At the last check, on 24 October 2026, its undated pilot pages invited applications. Its pilot bases, in its FAQ, are Atlanta, Cincinnati, Detroit, Minneapolis, New York and Raleigh-Durham.
Always confirm on the airline’s own careers page before applying. Every figure here is what the airline published at the date shown against it on our jobs board; entries marked Unconfirmed are ones whose requirements we found but whose current vacancy status we could not establish from the airline’s own pages. Vacancies open and close without notice.
Is Endeavor Air hiring pilots now?
Recruiting at the last check on 24 October 2026 — First Officer seat: Recruiting; Captain seat: Unconfirmed. CRJ-900 and CRJ-700 First Officers at ATP or restricted-ATP minimums, interviewed from six months before them; company-paid ATP-CTP for well-qualified candidates; no type rating (job-board copy); Propel’s job offers from Endeavor and Delta, and the Career Advancement Program to Delta
What we found at the last check: At the last check, on 24 October 2026, Endeavor’s pilot careers page invited applications, its pilot FAQ said the Propel application is always open and that Endeavor interviews candidates within six months of their ATP minimum hours, and its Experienced First Officer page advertised sign-on and retention bonuses. The pages are undated, and we found no dated First Officer or Captain posting; Endeavor’s careers page does not mention Direct Entry Captains, which an undated notice on the AirlineApps site advertises.
How we checked
Read directly on 24 October 2026, in downloads made through the GitHub runner (tools/careers/src/regionals-2026-10-24/): Endeavor’s pilot careers page (Endeavor and Delta joined under the Propel Career Path brand; Apply Now; hub operations in Atlanta, Cincinnati, Detroit, Minneapolis, New York and Raleigh-Durham; 150 regional jets on 750 daily flights to 122 destinations); its pilot FAQ, on endeavorair.com and in an identical copy on its iCIMS host (interviews within six months of the ATP minimum hours, earlier applications kept on file; the Propel application always open, students within 12 months of their ATP minimums, the minimums by background; selection by application review, required testing and an in-person interview at the Minneapolis headquarters with a joint Endeavor and Delta pilot selection team, with a logbook, work history and background review; company-paid ATP-CTP with its ATP training partner for well-qualified candidates; upgrades projected at less than 36 months; pilot seniority by base for ATL, CVG, DTW, MSP, NYC and RDU, the latest date 3 March 2025; the STEP program discontinued); its Career Advancement Program page (iCIMS host: 24 months as an Endeavor Captain, no testing or interview, the other criteria); its Experienced First Officer page; its About and Our Fleet pages (CRJ-900 and CRJ-700); its May 2023 fact sheet; Delta’s Propel page (the Collegiate & CFI, Company and Scholarship paths; criteria including a First Class medical, a passport and the right to work in the US without sponsorship); an undated AirlineApps notice for Direct Entry Captains; ATP Flight School’s Endeavor career track page; and AirlineGeeks (3 February 2025). Not readable: AviationCV’s copy of the CRJ First Officer listing (a bot check), so the listing’s figures (1,500 h, 250 h PIC, 25 h multi-engine, no type rating, First Class medical, high school diploma or GED) are as search results showed PilotsGlobal’s and AviationCV’s copies on 24 October 2026; CAPA’s brief of 28 July 2026 on two suspended Endeavor services (paywalled). No Direct Entry Captain page of Endeavor’s own and no Captain posting was downloaded. None of the pages carries a date.
Requirements, as published
| Requirement | As published by the airline |
|---|---|
| License | An FAA ATP, or the ability to obtain an ATP or restricted ATP (job-board copy of Endeavor’s CRJ First Officer listing, as search results showed it); Endeavor’s pilot FAQ says it can provide company-paid ATP-CTP training with its ATP training partner, with hotel and transportation, to well-qualified candidates |
| Minimum hours | The ATP minimums: 1,500 h total, 250 h as pilot in command and 25 h multi-engine in a job-board copy of the CRJ First Officer listing, as search results showed it (an earlier, closed listing gave 750 h total), or the restricted ATP’s lower totals. Endeavor interviews candidates within six months of their ATP minimum hours and keeps earlier applications on file; Propel takes flight instructors from AABI-accredited US university programs within 12 months of the restricted-ATP requirements and from Propel affiliate flight schools within 12 months of the ATP requirements (pilot FAQ) |
| Type rating | Not required — training provided (job-board copy of the CRJ First Officer listing, as search results showed it; Endeavor’s own pages do not mention a type rating) |
| Right to work | For Propel: a current passport or other travel documents to leave and re-enter the US freely, and the legal right to work in the US without sponsorship, now or in the future (Delta’s Propel page). Endeavor’s own pages give no work-authorization wording; as search results showed them on 29 September 2026, they asked for a valid passport and the ability to travel to and from every city and country Endeavor serves |
| Medical | FAA First Class (Propel’s criteria on Delta’s page; also the job-board copy of the CRJ First Officer listing) |
| Also | A high school diploma or GED (job-board copy of the listing). To advance to Delta through the Career Advancement Program: 24 months as an Endeavor Captain, no DUI within the last 10 years, no less than an honorable discharge from the military, a background check, fingerprinting and drug testing, and requirements on training records, disciplinary letters, attendance and reliability; a college degree is recommended, not required (Endeavor’s Career Advancement Program page). The Experienced First Officer page advertises a sign-on bonus of USD 20,000 to 40,000 depending on qualifying Part 121 experience and a further USD 110,000 in retention bonuses from 750 qualifying hours; an undated AirlineApps notice advertises USD 40,000 in Direct Entry Captain bonuses (a USD 10,000 training completion bonus and a USD 30,000 sign-on bonus for Part 121 experience), a year-for-year longevity match up to the 10-year rate and a further USD 110,000 through the Bonus & Retention Program. None of these pages is dated. |
Reading the requirements line by line
Endeavor’s own pages, read on 24 October 2026, name the ATP minimums without figures; the figures below come from a job-board copy of its CRJ First Officer listing, as search results showed it, and the FAA rules cited were read in the regulations themselves.
- The ATP minimums, with an early interview. Endeavor’s pilot FAQ says it interviews candidates within six months of their ATP minimum hours, and that you can apply earlier and have your materials kept on file until you are ready to interview. For Propel, the FAQ says the application is always open and that students can apply within 12 months of their ATP minimums: flight instructors at US universities with AABI-accredited flight programs within 12 months of the restricted-ATP requirements, and flight instructors at Propel’s affiliate flight schools who trained there within 12 months of the ATP requirements. The listing asks for an ATP, or the ability to obtain an ATP or a restricted ATP, and Delta’s Propel page says Propel pilots join Endeavor once they reach the ATP minimums.
- 1,500 hours, 250 as pilot in command, 25 multi-engine. These are the full ATP’s figures: 1,500 hours with 250 in an airplane as pilot in command, or as second in command performing the duties of pilot in command under supervision, and 50 hours in the class of airplane, of which up to 25 may be full flight simulator training in an approved course, which leaves 25 to fly in the airplane (14 CFR 61.159(a)). The restricted ATP needs fewer hours: 750 for a US military pilot, 1,000 with an approved bachelor’s degree with an aviation major and 60 aviation credit hours, or 1,250 with an approved associate’s degree with an aviation major or a bachelor’s with 30 to 59 credit hours (14 CFR 61.160). An earlier Endeavor listing on the same job board, now closed, gave 750 hours in total, as search results showed it, so ask Endeavor which minimum applies to you.
- The ATP-CTP, possibly paid. The ATP knowledge test needs the ATP-CTP graduation certificate first (14 CFR 61.153(e)). Endeavor’s FAQ says it can help well-qualified candidates finish the ATP-CTP process with company-paid training at its ATP training partner, with hotel and transportation provided.
- No type rating. The job-board copy of the listing says no type rating is required and training is provided; Endeavor’s own pages, read on 24 October 2026, do not mention a type rating. Part 121 lets no pilot serve as second in command without an ATP and the type rating for the aircraft (14 CFR 121.436(b)), so both come out of Endeavor’s new-hire training.
- The papers and the age. An FAA First Class medical, in the listing and in Propel’s criteria on Delta’s page; a high school diploma or GED, in the listing; and, in Propel’s criteria, a current passport or other travel documents that let you leave and re-enter the US freely, and the legal right to work in the US without sponsorship, now or in the future. We saw no age in Endeavor’s own requirements; the FAA issues a restricted ATP from 21 and a full ATP from 23 (14 CFR 61.153(a)). Endeavor’s own pages give no work-authorization wording for pilots who apply outside Propel, such as experienced First Officers, so ask Endeavor before you apply from outside the US.
Entry routes
- Direct entry First Officer — interviews from six months before the ATP minimums; company-paid ATP-CTP for well-qualified candidates
- Delta Propel Career Path — Endeavor and Delta’s shared recruiting: the Collegiate & CFI path (flight instructors from AABI-accredited US flight programs or Propel affiliate flight schools, within 12 months of the R-ATP or ATP minimums), the Company path for Delta employees and the Scholarship path for nominees of Delta’s affiliate organizations; one interview, a Conditional Job Offer with Endeavor and a Qualified Job Offer with Delta
- Career Advancement Program — contractual flow to Delta with no testing or interview, after 24 months of active service in the left seat at Endeavor
- Experienced First Officer — sign-on bonus by qualifying Part 121 experience and retention bonuses from 750 qualifying hours (undated page)
- Direct Entry Captain — advertised in an undated notice on the AirlineApps site; not on Endeavor’s pilot careers page, and no Captain posting found
Propel, the Career Advancement Program and the pay
Endeavor’s and Delta’s pages, read on 24 October 2026, describe the routes around the First Officer seat; none of them carries a date.
- Propel Career Path. Endeavor’s pilot careers page says Endeavor and Delta have joined forces under the Propel Career Path brand, for one experience from recruiting and training to selection and a future career at Delta, and Delta’s Propel page says the two have integrated their recruiting and pilot selection under it. Delta’s page describes a Collegiate & CFI path, for students and graduates of US four-year flight programs accredited by the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI) and pilots who trained at a Propel affiliate flight school, once they are instructing as certified flight instructors and within 12 months of the restricted-ATP or ATP requirements; a Company path, for Delta employees with 24 months of active service who have been active in the six months before they apply; and a Scholarship path, for candidates nominated by Delta’s affiliate organizations. Students can join Propel’s Talent Community before they can apply, and ATP Flight School’s Endeavor page says its Airline Career Pilot Program students may join it. Successful candidates receive a Conditional Job Offer with Endeavor (Endeavor’s FAQ) and a Qualified Job Offer with Delta, contingent on completing every part of the program; Delta says you interview only once, with Propel, to progress to Endeavor, which Propel pilots join at the ATP minimums, and potentially to Delta as a First Officer once you meet its requirements. Endeavor’s FAQ says it is discontinuing its earlier STEP program and moving current STEP students into the Propel Talent Community.
- Career Advancement Program. Endeavor’s program page calls it an exclusive, guaranteed and contractual career pathway to Delta, with no testing or interview required, and ATP Flight School’s Endeavor page says the same. To advance, the page says, you must serve 24 months in active service as an Endeavor Captain, have no DUI within the last 10 years and no less than an honorable discharge from the military, and submit to a background check, fingerprinting and drug testing, and you must meet requirements on training records, disciplinary letters, attendance and reliability; a college degree is recommended, not required. If you try an off-the-street interview at Delta and are not successful, you are no longer eligible to advance through the program. Endeavor’s FAQ says upgrades to Captain are currently projected at less than 36 months; under Part 121 a Captain needs 1,000 hours of air carrier experience, such as time as second in command in Part 121 operations (14 CFR 121.436(a)(3)).
- Experienced First Officers. Endeavor’s Experienced First Officer page, for pilots with Part 121 or Part 135 time, advertises a sign-on bonus of USD 20,000 to 40,000 paid at the completion of operating experience, depending on your qualifying Part 121 experience, a year-for-year pay scale longevity match, and a further USD 110,000 in retention bonuses through its Bonus & Retention Program, which you may join at 750 qualifying hours, with early Captain pay at 850 hours if you do.
- Direct Entry Captains. An undated notice on the AirlineApps application site says Endeavor is hiring Direct Entry Captains and advertises USD 40,000 in bonuses paid at the completion of operating experience, a USD 10,000 training completion bonus and a USD 30,000 sign-on bonus for Part 121 experience, with a year-for-year longevity match up to its 10-year rate, a further USD 110,000 through its Bonus & Retention Program and eligibility for Delta after 24 months as an Endeavor Captain. Endeavor’s pilot careers page, read on 24 October 2026, does not mention the route, we could not read a Direct Entry Captain page of Endeavor’s own or find a Captain posting, and the notice gives no minimums, so ask Endeavor whether the route is open.
Endeavor beside the four largest US passenger airlines on our jobs board, as recorded at each airline’s last check:
| Airline | Published minimum | License | Status at last check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Endeavor Air | ATP minimums · interview 6 months early | FAA ATP / R-ATP | Recruiting (24 October 2026) |
| Delta Air Lines | 1,500 h · 250 h PIC/SIC · 1,000 h turbine preferred | FAA CPL/IR · ATP-eligible | Recruiting (13 October 2026) |
| American Airlines | 1,500 h | FAA ATP (unrestricted) | Recruiting (14 October 2026) |
| United Airlines | 1,500 h direct entry | FAA ATP (unrestricted) + ME | Recruiting (13 October 2026) |
| Southwest Airlines | 2,500 h total / 1,500 h turbine (2026 posting) | FAA ATP + AMEL | Not recruiting (15 October 2026) |
Each of the four majors starts at 1,500 hours or more, so the restricted ATP’s 750 to 1,250 hours open a seat at a regional airline such as Endeavor, not at Delta; from there, the Career Advancement Program, not a second application, is Endeavor’s way to Delta.
Selection process
- Application through Delta’s Propel site (propel.delta.com), which Endeavor and Delta share under the Propel Career Path brand; the Propel application is always open, and Endeavor keeps an earlier application on file until you are within six months of your ATP minimum hours (Endeavor’s pilot FAQ)
- Application review and required testing (pilot FAQ; the tests are not described)
- In-person interview at Endeavor’s Minneapolis headquarters with a joint Endeavor and Delta pilot selection interview team: a work history and background review, behavior-based and technical questions (pilot FAQ)
- Logbook review for accuracy, flight history and professionalism (pilot FAQ)
- Successful candidates are accepted into Propel with a Conditional Job Offer from Endeavor (pilot FAQ) and a Qualified Job Offer from Delta, contingent on completing every part of the program (Delta’s Propel page)
Bases and fleet
Bases: Atlanta (ATL), Cincinnati (CVG), Detroit (DTW), Minneapolis (MSP), New York (NYC) and Raleigh-Durham (RDU): the bases of the pilot seniority list in Endeavor’s pilot FAQ, and its hub operations on its About and pilot careers pages, read on 24 October 2026 (undated) · New York is LaGuardia and JFK, as Endeavor’s May 2023 fact sheet and AirlineGeeks (3 February 2025) list its crew bases; AirlineGeeks reported Raleigh-Durham as the seventh, to open in the second quarter of 2025
Fleet: MHI RJ CRJ-900 and CRJ-700: Endeavor calls its CRJ-900 fleet the world’s largest and flies CRJ-700s besides (About and Our Fleet pages, read on 24 October 2026, undated) · 150 regional jets in all, on 750 daily flights to 122 destinations (About page, undated); its May 2023 fact sheet listed 115 CRJ-900s and nine CRJ-700s
How to prepare
Endeavor flies the CRJ-900 and the CRJ-700, and v1prep has no CRJ bank, so the type itself is taught in Endeavor’s new-hire training; your preparation is the knowledge underneath it, with the ATPL theory banks below for performance, meteorology and systems. If you still need the ATP written, the ATP bank covers the FAA’s ATM knowledge test, with its Part 121, transport performance and turbine-systems questions. The test needs the ATP-CTP course first (14 CFR 61.153), and Endeavor’s FAQ says it can provide the course, company-paid with its ATP training partner, to well-qualified candidates, so ask about it before you pay for a course yourself. Endeavor’s pilot FAQ, read on 24 October 2026, describes Propel’s selection in three steps: an application review, required testing (which it does not detail) and an in-person interview at Endeavor’s Minneapolis headquarters with a joint Endeavor and Delta pilot selection interview team, which includes a work history and background review and behavior-based questions as well as technical ones, with a thorough review of your logbooks for accuracy, flight history and professionalism. Prepare the behavioral questions with the US airline interview set, whose hiring-process questions cover the FAA’s Pilot Records Database, and the CRM interview set, and the technical ones with the FAA instrument banks, with their IFR regulations, charts, approaches and weather. Do the paperwork first: since Endeavor interviews from six months before your ATP minimums, apply early, and before the interview check every logbook entry and carry the totals forward correctly, since the review covers accuracy; list your employers for the work history review; and have your First Class medical, your passport and the proof of any restricted-ATP route ready, your degree’s aviation credits or your military service.
Endeavor has no interview guide on v1prep yet, so for the interview read the complete airline pilot interview guide and the Library’s competency-based pilot interviews and technical questions in airline pilot interviews; its airline pilot recruitment and selection explains the background checks and the Pilot Records Database behind a US airline offer. If you are counting on the lower minimums, the restricted ATP explained sets out who qualifies at 750, 1,000 or 1,250 hours, and our FAA ATP written test guide covers the ATP-CTP and the test that follows it. The Library’s FAA Part 121 air carrier operations explains the rules a regional First Officer flies under, and airline pilot ranks, seniority and scheduling how seniority works. To see where the Career Advancement Program leads, read Delta Air Lines pilot requirements and our Delta pilot interview guide; another US regional that flies the CRJ family is on SkyWest Airlines pilot requirements. Check Endeavor’s entry on the jobs board for the latest status.
What we could not confirm
- Read directly on 24 October 2026: Endeavor’s pilot careers, FAQ, Career Advancement Program, Experienced First Officer, About and Our Fleet pages, and Delta’s Propel page. The CRJ First Officer listing’s figures (1,500 h, 250 h PIC, 25 h multi-engine, no type rating, high school diploma or GED) are from search-engine results of job-board copies, not read on Endeavor’s pages. Confirm the vacancy is still open before you apply.
- Which hour minimum Endeavor applies now: the current job-board copy gives 1,500 h with 250 h PIC, an earlier closed listing 750 h, and Endeavor itself names only the ATP minimums (and, for Propel’s university flight instructors, the restricted-ATP ones)
- Whether Endeavor is running First Officer new-hire classes now: its pages invite applications but are undated, and the latest date in its FAQ’s pilot seniority list by base is 3 March 2025
- Whether the Direct Entry Captain route is open: the notice we read (AirlineApps) is undated, Endeavor’s pilot careers page does not mention the route, and we found no Captain posting
- Direct Entry Captain minimums: a job-board copy of a Captain listing names 975 h of air carrier experience as 14 CFR 121.436 defines it, short of the rule’s 1,000 h for a Part 121 Captain
- Whether the Experienced First Officer bonuses are current: the page is undated
- Work authorization for pilots who apply outside Propel, such as experienced First Officers: Endeavor’s own pages give none; Propel’s criteria ask for the right to work in the US without sponsorship
- What the required testing in Propel’s selection consists of: Endeavor’s FAQ names it without describing it
These points are not published clearly by the airline. Treat them as leads, not facts, and confirm them on the careers page: careers page.
Common questions
Is Endeavor Air hiring pilots? At the last check, on 24 October 2026, Endeavor’s pilot careers page invited applications, its pilot FAQ said the Propel application is always open and that Endeavor interviews candidates within six months of their ATP minimum hours, and its Experienced First Officer page advertised sign-on and retention bonuses. The pages are undated and we found no dated posting, so confirm the vacancy on Endeavor’s careers site or Delta’s Propel site before you apply.
How many hours do you need to fly for Endeavor Air? Endeavor names the ATP minimums and interviews candidates within six months of reaching them. A job-board copy of its CRJ First Officer listing, seen in search results on 24 October 2026, asks for 1,500 hours with 250 as pilot in command and 25 multi-engine, and for an ATP or the ability to obtain an ATP or restricted ATP; the restricted ATP needs 750 hours for a US military pilot and 1,000 or 1,250 with an approved aviation degree (14 CFR 61.160). An earlier, closed listing gave 750 hours, so ask Endeavor which minimum applies to you.
Does Endeavor pay for the ATP-CTP? Endeavor’s pilot FAQ, read on 24 October 2026, says it can help well-qualified candidates finish the ATP-CTP process with company-paid training at its ATP training partner, with hotel and transportation provided. The FAQ is undated, so confirm before you book a course.
How do Endeavor pilots get to Delta? Through the Career Advancement Program, a guaranteed, contractual path to Delta with no testing or interview. Endeavor’s program page asks for 24 months of active service as an Endeavor Captain, no DUI within the last 10 years, a background check, fingerprinting and drug testing, and requirements on training records, disciplinary letters, attendance and reliability. Through Propel, successful candidates receive a Conditional Job Offer with Endeavor and a Qualified Job Offer with Delta after a single interview.
Does Endeavor hire Direct Entry Captains? An undated notice on the AirlineApps application site says Endeavor is hiring Direct Entry Captains, with USD 40,000 in bonuses paid at the completion of operating experience, a year-for-year longevity match up to its 10-year rate, a further USD 110,000 in retention bonuses and eligibility for Delta after 24 months as an Endeavor Captain. Endeavor’s pilot careers page did not mention the route on 24 October 2026, and we found no Captain posting and no minimums; under Part 121 a Captain needs 1,000 hours of air carrier experience (14 CFR 121.436), so ask Endeavor before you apply.
