Condor Pilot Requirements 2026: Hours, Licence and Hiring Process
Condor was recruiting First Officers at the last check, on 21 September 2026: its application portal on career.aero carried a First Officer campaign, and a type rating instructor and examiner (TRI/TRE) vacancy was relayed by PilotsGlobal, both seen in search results rather than on the portal itself. The conditions are an EASA ATPL, a CPL(IR) with ATPL theory, or an MPL, with a CS-25 type rating preferred but not required; German and English, both at Level 4 or above; unrestricted eligibility to work and live in Germany, with a valid passport; and an EASA Class 1 with a clear AMC drug test and corrective vision within ±3 dioptres. We could not confirm an hours minimum. Condor lists a direct-entry First Officer route on the A320 family and the A330, though we could not confirm that the A330neo stream takes external First Officers, and it publishes no direct-entry Captain route. The fleet is all Airbus, the A320neo, A321neo and A330-900neo, flown from Frankfurt, Munich, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Leipzig, and the cadet route is a 24-month MPL(A) programme with TFC, ending with the A320/A321 rating.
Always confirm on the airline’s own careers page before applying. Every figure here is what the airline published at the date shown against it on our jobs board; entries marked Unconfirmed are ones whose requirements we found but whose current vacancy status we could not establish from the airline’s own pages. Vacancies open and close without notice.
Is Condor hiring pilots now?

What we found at the last check: Condor’s application portal carried a First Officer recruitment campaign and a TRI/TRE vacancy in search results on 21 September 2026, and its MPL programme with TFC is published.
How we checked
Condor’s application portal on career.aero carried a “Jetzt als First Officer bei Condor durchstarten” campaign and a TRI/TRE vacancy relayed by PilotsGlobal in search results on 21 September 2026; Condor’s MPL(A) programme with TFC is also published. Not read directly on the portal.
Requirements, as published
| Requirement | As published by the airline |
|---|---|
| Licence | EASA ATPL, CPL(IR) with ATPL theory, or MPL; CS-25 type rating preferred |
| Minimum hours | Not published in surfaced results |
| Type rating | Preferred, not required |
| Right to work | Unrestricted work and residence eligibility in Germany; valid passport |
| Medical | EASA Class 1 with clear AMC drug test; corrective vision within ±3 dioptres |
| English | German and English at Level 4 minimum |
Reading the requirements line by line
- Two languages at Level 4. German and English are both required at Level 4 or above, so an English-only pilot does not meet the list.
- Work and residence in Germany. Condor asks for unrestricted eligibility to work and live in Germany, with a valid passport, so a pilot who would need a permit does not meet it as written.
- An eyesight limit of Condor’s own. The Class 1 must come with a clear AMC drug test, and corrective vision must be within ±3 dioptres, so a valid Class 1 alone may not be enough. Check your prescription before you apply.
- A rating helps; it is not required. A CS-25 type rating, on a large aeroplane certified like the A320 or the A330, is preferred, not required, and the licence can be an EASA ATPL, a CPL(IR) with ATPL theory, or an MPL.
- No hours figure. None appeared in the results we found, and we could not confirm the current minimum, so read the campaign itself before you apply.
Entry routes
- Direct entry First Officer A320 family / A330
- MPL(A) cadet programme with TFC (24 months, A320/A321 rating)
- Direct entry Captain — not published

Selection process
The airline does not publish its selection stages in detail; expect an online application, screening against the published minimums, an interview and a simulator or aptitude assessment before the medical.
Bases and fleet
Bases: Frankfurt · Munich · Düsseldorf · Hamburg · Leipzig
Fleet: A320neo / A321neo · A330-900neo
How to prepare
Condor’s fleet is the A320neo, the A321neo and the A330-900neo, so the A320 bank is the type preparation for the narrow-body stream, and it covers the fly-by-wire philosophy and control laws the A330neo shares. A CS-25 type rating is preferred, not required, so a non-rated applicant’s technical preparation rests on the ATPL theory banks. German at Level 4 is a published condition, so expect to use it, and rehearse your technical and competency answers in German as well as English. We found no published selection stages: prepare for aptitude testing, a competency interview and a simulator check, and check your eyesight against the ±3 dioptre limit before you apply rather than at the medical.
For the interview itself, read the complete airline pilot interview guide. The Library explains CS-25 large aeroplane certification, behind the preferred type rating, and pilot medical certificates; if you are weighing the cadet route, its article on the CPL, ATPL and MPL sets out what an MPL allows, and the cadet programmes page compares airline cadet routes. Check Condor’s entry on the jobs board for the latest status.
What we could not confirm
- Researched on 21 September 2026 from search-engine results of the airline’s own careers pages, job postings and industry job boards — not from a direct read of the portal. Confirm the vacancy is still open before you apply.
- Current First Officer hours minimum
- Whether the A330neo stream takes external First Officers
These points are not published clearly by the airline. Treat them as leads, not facts, and confirm them on the careers page: careers page.
Common questions
Is Condor hiring pilots? Yes, for First Officers, at the last check on 21 September 2026: Condor’s application portal on career.aero carried a First Officer campaign, and a TRI/TRE vacancy was relayed by PilotsGlobal. We saw both in search results rather than on the portal itself, so confirm that the campaign is open before you apply.
How many hours do you need to fly for Condor? We could not confirm a figure: no hours minimum appeared in the results we found. Condor asks for an EASA ATPL, a CPL(IR) with ATPL theory, or an MPL, and prefers a CS-25 type rating without requiring one.
Do you need to speak German to fly for Condor? Yes. Condor asks for German and English, both at Level 4 or above, and for unrestricted eligibility to work and live in Germany.
What are Condor’s medical requirements? An EASA Class 1 with a clear AMC drug test, and corrective vision within ±3 dioptres. The eyesight limit is a condition of Condor’s own, so check your prescription against it before applying.
Does Condor have a cadet programme? Yes: an MPL(A) programme with TFC, lasting 24 months and ending with the A320/A321 type rating. We found no cost or funding terms for it.
